Kiana's Post from 3/23

This week was another amazing week in Mrs.Mellette's class we had so much fun. On Monday, we started our autobiographies. At the end of the day on Tuesday we had the Race for Education ice cream party. People who provided more than 30 sponsors could go to the party. On Wednesday, it was a Chapel day! Mrs. Horst (the second grade teacher) Sierra Anastasi, Kaylee, and Sarah Castronova did a play about the talent show that is coming up. Then Mrs. Doughty and her Kindergarten class sang. Mrs. Doughty then read a book. On Thursday, at the end of the day, Mrs. Glessner and Mrs. Heck surprised Mrs. Mellette - it was the day before her birthday and we had ice cream cake from Mrs. Heck (yum). Then, we went outside to write our spelling words in chalk! On Friday, we had a half day and it was Mrs. Mellette's Birthday and she was surprised many times. We had a amazing week.

Two Things...BEN GLENN and Fun Fern Green Friday!

In the afternoons of our achievement test week, I tried to create a more relaxed atmosphere for my fabulous fifth graders - especially since they've been working SO hard! Today we finished a movie we began yesterday. Now, I say "movie", but it's not what you're thinking -it's more like a watching a chapel speaker.

The speaker? Ben Glenn. My precious students asked if I would share Ben's information on the blog. Ben is SO inspiring! Ben has ADHD and is dyslexic, but he looks at these difficulties as GIFTS. Without these special GIFTS, Ben couldn't do the AMAZING THINGS he does. Ask your favorite LCCS Leola 5th grader what Ben Glenn can do.

Hi!! My name is Kaylee to all you who do not know me! Well, I was given the task of Serf Blogger (that is my job this week in the class), so I am going to be telling you what we did this week and last week. We celebrated some BIRTHDAYS what what!! First, we celebrated Kiana Weaver's birthday with Drumstick ice cream cones and just yesterday we celebrated Janae Fisher's birthday with some delicious Rita's Water Ice! Then, we will celebrate Jayda McDaniel's birthday tomorrow!! Go Gaga - what what - sugar snaps!!

On March 23 it is....... MY sister's (Taylor) Birthday!!!! Also....... MRS. MELLETTE'S BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!! Oh my goodness! You all have to be so excited about that?!?!??!?!

Here in fifth grade we are so happy that Mrs. Mellette is our teacher!!! P.S. She is the best teacher in the world!!! I'm sorry I just can't keep it in - she is just so awesome!!!! So, Happy Birthday to Mrs.Mellette and all the other birthday babes!

Last week we went to the Robin Hood play and it was awesome because my cousin Brittany was in the play! JK It was really good! This week we are taking achievement tests - it is very boring, but we do some stuff to spice it up! So it is pretty good...We always have snacks so that is fun!!

So happy birthday to all the birthday babes and Mrs.Mellette and Goodbye everyone!!!!
