This Week by KiYeon Kim

This week we read tall tales and our read aloud, Holes. We are learning about American culture and in math we learn about rounding and adding. At recess, we played kickball and soccer. In gym class we played soccer and we did a soccer test. We are also writing a tall tale story. In computer class, we played a computer game and we practiced typing. We also watched a short clip about John (Chapman) Appleseed.

Cheez-It! Helps My Students Become Better Spellers

How can Cheez-It! help my students become better spellers?!!?
Cheez-It! has a special SCRABBLE Junior edition which allows my students to SPELL out their SPELLING WORDS!!!

My 5th Grade Students enjoy THIS kind of SPELLING WORK!

"How many words can I make with my Cheez-It! Scrabble Junior crackers?"
Wishing spelling could always be THIS fun!
"We never did this kind of spelling in KOREA!"

My students were SAD to HEAR that I bought the LAST TWO BOXES of Cheez-It! SCRABBLE JUNIOR at our local Wal-Mart! We're hoping the Scrabble Junior is not for a LIMITED TIME only! If you know, please let US know!

This Week in Review by Sarah Castr.

This week was a lot of fun! It was really short, though. We had Monday off because of Labor day. On Tuesday, we planted our seeds and celebrated Kiyeon's birthday. On Wednesday, we had chapel and had two special guests: Daniel's mom who sang and my dad who shared a message. They both did a really good job! That afternoon we celebrated Caleb's birthday. Thursday we had off school because of all the rain. Lastly, on Friday, we worked on spelling sorts, ate some of Mrs. Mellette's mom's homemade applesauce, enjoyed an outdoor recess, and had 2 specials: gym and art class.

More Music

I currently don't have audio on my classroom computer, so I mistakenly didn't upload the right video from yesterday's musical masterpiece. This song brought tears to my eyes! Enjoy this musical selection from Daniel's mom...
