Missing Madi

Today was dear Madi's last day of school. sniff sniff

Oh, how we'll miss our marvelous Madi!

She said she really felt the love from us all!

A darling pillowcase my mom and sister made that all the kiddos signed! It said, "We'll Miss Moo!"

We also gave her a...

...t-shirt with all of our names on it!

Ready to listen to Dr. Seuss' book
"Oh, the Places You'll Go!"

Our precious Room Mom brought us a delicious treat to celebrate Madi!

It was soooooo yummmmmmy!
Right, Joshua?

My favorite picture of the day!

Madi shared with me after school about her all-time favorite day of her entire life. Do you know what it was? It was the day she trusted Jesus as her Savior! The day when she was 6 years old and asked Jesus to forgive her for all the bad things she ever did or would do! I love her enthusiasm and will really miss her passion and spice for life!
We'll be praying for you, Madi!

Two Birthdays in Two Days!

Yesterday we celebrated
Alissa's DOUBLE-DIGIT Birthday!

Her dad brought in cupcakes & freeze pops -
Yummy! Right, Caleb?

Then, her dad got a photo of all of us....except Tara, that is! She had to leave school early. Bummer! We'll have to get another class photo with EVERYONE in it!

Then, today we celebrated TYLER'S birthday!

We learned today that
Tyler was actually BORN with that MOHAWK!
Amazing, huh? His mom brought in the most delicious brownies and milk, but I forgot my camera at home! Oops! The memory of the fun will last forever, though!

***********

P.S. I was just kidding about the "born with a Mohawk" thing! hee hee

Upcoming Field Trip

We are headed to.....

Zook Molasses and Good Food, Inc.
in Honey Brook, PA
on

Tuesday, October 5, 2010

from 8:20 - 12:15ish

Why?

In Social Studies, we'll be studying the assembly line. Good Food, Inc. has many assembly lines that the students will get to observe and learn about.

In our Read Aloud, the students are listening to the Swiss Family Robinson - a family on a deserted island that eats delightful things like sugar cane, sorghum and molasses - all products that the students will get to taste test!

In our Reading Books, our theme is "Nature's Fury". Zook Molasses and Good Food, Inc. experienced a tornado in 1999. The students already looked at a few pictures from the tornado, but they will get to see exactly where the tornado hit the building and they'll get to see some before and after pictures of the tornado.

What should students and chaperones wear the day of the field trip?

Sneakers
(No open-toe shoes - FDA rules)

Jeans
(No shorts -more FDA rules)

Also, a glamorous hair net will be provided for your child's precious hair! I'm sure they'll love that feature! (Another FDA rule that must be followed during the tour.)

What shouldn't students and chaperones bring?

A lunch! My parents and sisters will provide a pizza lunch for students and chaperones in their company lunchroom. If there are certain food allergies, please let me know asap.
Please fill out the permission slip on RenWeb and indicate whether or not you can chaperone and/or drive for the field trip. We are relying on drivers to keep the field trip exclusively FREE!
Thanks for any help you can provide!

First Full Week of School

I love school. School is really a lot of fun. It is awesome to be able to come to school and learn, especially because we get to start learning about God and how all of our classes teach us by learning through Him.

This week we got to finish watching clips from the story of Mary and Joseph having their baby - our Savior ("The Nativity"). We talked a lot about maps, the United States of America and how humans make maps to show all that God created. Science was fun because we all got to show our plant projects. It's totally amazing all the different plants that God created. Worship team had our first practice - we sang about how we're like trees and need to stay planted in our faith. Math kept coming up in all our other subjects, even social studies.

We had an awesome full first week and keep praying for everyone in our class to be able to come to school and all have a full week together!

I really love my school - it has the most awesome teachers and the greatest principal. God is so good!

My Experience At LCCS

I am liking the merge with LCS and LWA. The reason I like the merge is because we got two people from LCS, which are Angela and Tara. We also got two brand new people which are Nathan and Christina. I enjoy having more people in my class. I really like my fifth grade teacher,Mrs. Mellette. I am hoping to learn more things here at LCCS.
